The exterior provides a strong clue to the type of premises this is and once inside, the combination of the old building with its welcoming fireplace contrast comfortably with the high ceilings of the new addition, each complementing the other and providing attractive comfortable alternatives depending on the purpose of your visit.

At The Bar

A large well stocked bar plays host to a wide range of draught products including 2 cask beers (1 of which is Greene king IPA for only £1.99 and the other a rotating guest beer), a range of extra cold products promoted via ‘cold stations’. Wine and Spirits play an important part too with a generous selection of premium spirits and malt whiskies alongside a comprehensive wine list with our appealing wine of the season offer.

About Us

People often talk about civic regeneration, but all too often it seems to be in conjunction with the erection of a fence or a plaque, however the Picture House on Main Street Rutherglen seems to be the exception to this rule. The name pays homage to the earlier incarnation of the site when it was the venue for the ‘flicks’, whilst the new format of the premises brings its more recent use as a pub right up to date, with a contemporary bright & welcoming operation more suited to the modern needs of the local population.

The Picture house is a great venue for sports fans with all the atmosphere of the big game ensured through several strategically positioned Plasma TVs showing SKY HD. Should sport or other entertainment not be shown then the screens act as billboards showing a rolling programme of forthcoming activities and offers. The technology continues with wifi connectivity, and with carefully zoned music, the Picture house is an ideal location for a business meeting or simply for catching up on emails.
